Children sitting around a rectangular table engaged in educational activities using tablets and robotics kits in a classroom with a whiteboard and large sliding glass doors leading outside.

A place to belong. A place to connect. A place to just be.

It all begins with an idea.

The Happy Hub was a vision from young blogger, Life of Lincoln, to create a safe space for children to come together.

Today, Happy Hub is a welcoming, neuroaffirming space where children can show up exactly as they are — without pressure, expectations, or the need to “perform” socially.

A yellow sun with a smiling face and rays extending outward. Inside the sun, it says "Happy Hub" in black text. Below the sun, it says "HANGOUT" in bold black letters and "SESSIONS" in smaller black text.

From the initial launch of some casual gaming days together, it soon became clear the demand for more regular meet ups and programs was there.

And so, The Happy Hub was born.

A community hub for children and teens of all abilities to connect, learn, and grow together.

What is Happy Hub?

Happy Hub is not a facilitated social program and it is not a therapy or social skills group.

Instead, Happy Hub is a safe, supported environment that allows children to:

  • Spend time with peers who share similar interests

  • Connect in ways that feel natural and authentic to them

  • Engage at their own pace — or simply observe

  • Take breaks when needed

  • Feel comfortable being themselves

There are no structured group activities, no forced participation, and no expectations that children must interact in a particular way. Connection is allowed to unfold naturally, in a way that respects each child’s nervous system, communication style, and capacity.

What makes Happy Hub different?

Happy Hub has been intentionally designed with neurodivergent children and families in mind.

At Happy Hub:

  • Children choose how they engage and if they engage

  • Shared interests are the starting point for connection

  • Masking is not required

  • Regulation is prioritised over participation

  • Friendship is not forced — it is allowed to grow

Support staff are present to ensure safety, supervision, and emotional support, not to direct play or facilitate interactions. Their role is to hold the space, respond when needed, and help maintain a calm, inclusive environment.

How Happy Hub works

Happy Hub runs during school terms and offers consistent, predictable sessions so children can build familiarity and comfort over time.

Weekly sessions:

  • 📅 Mondays and Thursdays

  • ⏰ 2-hour sessions

  • 📍 Karratha

Children are welcome to attend one or both weekly sessions, depending on their needs and family routines.

In addition to weekly sessions, Happy Hub also offers monthly special events, providing opportunities for shared experiences in a relaxed, supportive setting.

Our space

Happy Hub is set up to support a wide range of needs, interests, and energy levels.

  • Active spaces for movement and play
